Sa Sa International Holdings Limited, Asia's leading cosmetics retailer and beauty services group, announced Wednesday in HK it plans to open 100 stores in the Chinese mainland.

Speaking at a press conference on the group's annual performance, Simon Kwok, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the group, said having leveraged its strong brand name, Sa Sa will continue to expand its network in the Chinese mainland by broadening the product range, increasing marketing efforts for exclusive brands and providing further training to the local staff.

The group opened its first Sa Sa store in the mainland in Shanghai on 26 March 26, 2005.

In Hong Kong and Macao, Sa Sa's core retail business improved significantly mainly due to the increased spending by tourists, in particular from the mainland, as well as the growing confidence of local consumers. Retail and wholesale turnover reached 1,916.0 million HK dollars (245.64 million US dollars), an increase of 25. 0 percent.
