SigmaTel, a leader in manufacturing analog intensive, mixed-signal integrated circuits and world's largest MP3 player producer, announced Monday the official opening of its office in Shenzhen.

The office in Shenzhen, a city in south China's Guangdong Province, the mainland's hotbed of semiconductor and consumer electronics manufacturing, is the third SigmaTel has opened in Asia in six months.It will provide direct, local support to its growing number of electronics manufacturers in China.

"We are extremely delighted at the chance to increase our presence in China. Through our Shenzhen office we will be closer, and able to provide immediate technical support, to our valued customers in the mainland. This ushers in a new era for SigmaTel in China," said Ron Edgerton, CEO and President of SigmaTel.

SigmaTel is planing to open two other offices in Beijing and Shanghai.
