China hopes to cooperate with foreign financial
companies including Temasek Holdings of Singapore, and welcomes
them to join China's financial reform, said Chinese Vice
Premier Huang Ju Friday.
Huang made the remarks when meeting with
Ho Ching, executive director and chief executive officer
of Temasek Holdings.
Huang briefed the guests about China's
economic development, financial system reform and, in particular,
the reform of China's state-owned commercial banks.
He said China steadily pushes forward the
reform of financial readjustment, public listing and introduction
of strategic investors.
By absorbing strategic investors, China's
state-owned commercial banks hope to introduce advanced
technologies, experience and expertise, increase capital,
improve corporate governance and risk management, and raise
competitiveness, Huang said.
