New plan is good news for foreign investors
As people around the nation look forward
to sound economic policies held in the newly-passed
State plan for the coming five years, foreign
investors also have reasons to be cheerful.
In a message delivered at the National People's
Congress (NPC) conference which concluded
last week in Beijing, foreign investment
was assured of continuing to play a key role
in China's development.
In his report on the outline of the 10th
Five-Year Plan (2001-05) delivered on March
5, Premier Zhu Rongji stressed that China
needs to make better use of foreign funds.
Zeng Peiyan, minister of the State Development
Planning Commission, also vowed to work to
stabilize the amount of introduced foreign
capital and to improve the quality and efficiency
of the utilization.
