Project of Processing Chinese Chestnut Products

Project Content: Two construction phases: the first phases of the project is to build one cooling storage house and three processing lines; the second phase is to build another cooling storage house and another three processing lines.

Construction Condition: Dawu County is a typical mountainous area with large planting coverage of Chinese chestnuts with capacity of 8,000 t/y. The locality has perfect basic facilities and convenient traffic communication.

Investment & Composition: Total investment amounts to US$4.6 million, of which fixed assets accounts for US$ 3.15 million and working capital for US$ 1.45 million. Plan to introduce US$ 2 million of foreign investment.

Economic Benefit Evaluation: Project construction period of 2 years. After completion, annual sales volume of US$ 14.2 million, profit of US$ 1.8 million, tax of US$ 0.98 million, and investment payoff term of 4 years.

Project Status: The project has been listed in '99 State Development Plan of mountainous areas and the pre-construction has been finished.

Mode of Cooperation: Joint venture, cooperation or solely foreign-invested venture.
